Heavy rains Friday night into Saturday morning flooded several roadways in eastern Portland.

The main thoroughfare from Boundbrook to Bryan’s Bay, in the vicinity of the old Jamaica Public Service building and the Coronation Bakery, is inundated following the downpour.

Police are advising motorists to proceed with caution when travelling along the corridor.

They are also urging drivers to use an alternative route if conditions worsen, via Boundbrook Crossing down to Boundbrook Road near Boundbrook Primary School, exiting at Bryan’s Bay.

Additionally, a section of the Anchovy main road leading to Dolphin Bay is flooded, and motorists are being urged to watch for rising water levels.

More later.
