23 Haitians detained in Kingston raid

Twenty-three Haitians were taken into custody following a police raid in Harbour View, in eastern Kingston, on Thursday.

Around 8 a.m. officers swooped down on a premises in the area where the group was found.

They are now being processed ahead of a court appearance.

The Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency has been notified.

The arrests come just a week after 16 Haitians detained at a house in Portmore, St Catherine, were ordered to leave the country.
