As part of Ras-I’s third studio album ‘Heart of Love’, he teams up with Khalia on the new track ‘Home’, which is set for release today.

In a world of fast-paced, uncertain relationships, reggae artistes Ras-I and Khalia offer a grounded take on love with their new single Home, to be released today. The track explores love as emotional safety, presence, and peace, highlighting the quiet moments that define meaningful relationships, even from afar. For Ras-I, the concept of home extends far beyond a physical place. “Home, to me, is anywhere I feel at peace and wherever my heart feels full,” he shared. The song draws from real-life experiences, with Ras-I emphasising authenticity as a core part of his songwriting. “All my love songs are from real-life situations because that’s how the listener can truly relate,” he added.

While widely known for his conscious and spiritually driven music, Home reveals a more intimate side of the artiste, reflective of personal conversations and emotional presence. “I just thought about my everyday conversations with my empress and the things I’d say and do to be present,” Ras-I explained.

The collaboration with Khalia came together organically in the studio, with both artistes contributing to the writing process and shaping the direction of the song together. “The way Ras-I presented it, he wrote his verse and wanted us to build the rest together,” Khalia said. “It felt like a well-thought-out concept that I was adding to. That’s what makes a good collaboration.”

Khalia added that her connection to the song has evolved: “At the time, I wasn’t in true love, so I wrote it based on what I imagined love to feel like, which is safe and secure. Now, years later, I can relate to it because I’m experiencing that kind of love.”

Their chemistry is reflected in the seamless blending of their vocals and shared storytelling approach. “I think our voices blend really well, and we work well as a team. No ego, just great music,” Khalia noted.

For Ras-I, exploring love and vulnerability is an important part of building a deeper connection with his audience. “It’s important to show people different sides of me and develop genuine relationships with my community,” he said.

At its core, Home delivers a simple but powerful message about what love should represent. “Love is not just about lust. Peace, clarity and security are vital,” Ras-I added.

The song, which is a part of Ras-I’s upcoming third studio album Heart of Love, was produced by Koastal King’s Keniel Drumz, who also played drums on the track, alongside Nnamdi Robinson on guitar, Oniel ‘Keys’ Dacres on keyboard, and Joshua Jones on bass.
