Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 Dr Gabrielle Henry, hospitalised in Thailand since falling from the main stage during the November 19 preliminary competition, is expected to return home soon for continued treatment. A joint statement from the Miss Universe Organization and her family said she will be “accompanied by a full medical escort team” and “transferred directly to hospital for continued treatment and recovery”. The statement, released on Monday, detailed the extent of Dr Henry’s injuries, noting that her fall caused “an intracranial haemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations and other significant injuries”.

She was immediately taken to an intensive care unit in Bangkok, where “she remained in critical condition under constant neurological monitoring, and continues to require 24-hour specialist supervision,” the statement said.

The Miss Universe Organization added that from the moment the incident occurred, it assumed “full and immediate responsibility without hesitation”.

It also stated that it has “never attributed blame to Dr Henry,” calling any such suggestions “unfounded and do not reflect the facts”.

The Organization said it has covered all hospital, medical and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, as well as the accommodation and living costs for Dr Henry’s sister, Dr Phylicia Henry-Samuels, and their mother, Maureen Henry, who have “remained by her side throughout this difficult period”.

It added that it is also funding the medically escorted repatriation flight arranged by the hospital and has committed to covering all future medical expenses related to the incident.

In a release on Monday, November 24, Miss Universe Organization President Raúl Rocha posted a statement to his personal social media account, providing an update on Dr Henry’s condition and addressing “recent speculation” surrounding the incident.

Rocha’s statement noted that “… there have been difficult moments and unexpected concerns. However, thanks to the excellent medical care provided, each issue was successfully resolved. Today, we are pleased to share that the latest medical report confirms that Dr Gabrielle Henry is in good health and nearing discharge”.

The joint statement issued on Monday by the Miss Universe Organization and the Henry family added that the family is deeply grateful for the organisation’s “presence and love shown,” and extended “heartfelt thanks to the people of Jamaica, the Miss Universe community, and supporters worldwide for the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, and encouragement.”
