Navasky Anderson scored a massive personal best.

Although he finished adrift of the podium finishes in the men’s 800-metre final at the Tokyo Athletics Championships, Jamaica’s Navasky Anderson scored a massive personal best, lowering the national record by nearly a second in a new mark of 1:42.76 seconds.

Anderson, the first Jamaican to compete in the World Championships men’s 800m final, placed seventh after a valiant effort where he faded down the homestretch.

Yet despite his finish, Anderson had run the race of his life as he lowered his own national record of 1:43.72 which he had set in the semifinal round.
